| NEW DELHI: The major textile companies are turning towards the formation of design studios and innovations units in the modern globalisation scenario, industry sources said here on January 30. The innovation in textile industry is taking an organised form, which has proved its worth for the textile industry even in the yesteryears. The textile production houses like Ashima limited, Jindal World Wide and S Kumar have developed specialised innovation units up within the premises. Shrikant Pareek, vice president, operations, in Ashima limited pointed out that after competing on price, quality, manufacturing capacity and supply chain, now its time to compete on value and services, thus the need of Design Studios. The design studios will help in finding in-house solutions for innovating with fiber, yarn, dyes, prints and finishes as they are equipped with hi-tech computers and supporting software for digital simulation. The innovations units will be able to present their engineered weave, fabric or design options through software like Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop and the digital simulation will enable the team of designers to give virtual results. |
